FERNDALE, Wash. — Deputies arrested a Marysville man for an armed robbery in a room at the Silver Reef Casino Hotel early Sunday.

Chief Deputy Kevin Hester says officers were called to the room at about 4 AM and John Hiatt allowed them in.

A woman was present but Hiatt told officers it wasn’t a robbery because she was a prostitute he had hired from an adult website.

She told them that the condom they were using came off during sex and she made him stop, to which Hiatt responded by threatening her with a handgun and demanding she give back the money he had paid her.

Officers found a gun and the money in Hiatt’s bag and arrested him for first degree robbery and patronizing a prostitute.
