DEMING, Wash. — The three-year wait for convenient shopping in the Mt. Baker Foothills is over.

Locally-owned Nugents Corner Market & Hardware is now open in the old IGA building off Mount Baker Highway near Deming.

Everson residents Troy and Aubree Lozano have been refurbishing the building for the past few months.

Their store is open every day from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and their deli is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m, serving up fried chicken, homemade pizza, and more,.
