BLAINE, Wash. – Travelers hoping to cross the U.S./Canada border using NEXUS are getting some good news this week.
The Northern Light reports applicants for the expedited border-crossing program have been granted a five-year grace period to complete the interview process, an expansion from the previous two-year allowance.
The change comes as enrollment centers find themselves facing unprecedented backlogs of applications, with most not seeing an opening until well into 2023.
Current members who have re-applied before their card’s expiration date will be able to continue enjoying the benefits while they wait for their opening to complete the process.
