MOUNT BAKER SKI AREA, Wash. – Skiers and snowboarders rejoice.

The Mount Baker Ski Area has announced they’ll be open for the season on Wednesday, December 15th.

In a video posted to their website, officials said that several feet of weekend snow improved conditions.

“The last storm has been great for us. It’s the storm that saved Christmas,” said ski area general manager Mike Trowbridge. “What that means is this coming Wednesday, we’re going to be open. All lifts, all lodges and most of our terrain.”

They also announced that All Passholder Day will be tomorrow, Tuesday, December 14th.

Crews are hard at work this morning preparing for visitors and have asked people to stay away from the resort until they officially open.
