BELLINGHAM, Wash. – An 18-year-old man faces a homicide charge for delivering fentanyl-laced pills that caused the overdose death of a 16-year-old Bellingham girl.
She was found dead on January 26th and the Medical Examiner found the synthetic opioid in her system.
Court documents state that witnesses told investigators that Joshua B. Stewart discussed supplying pills to the girl and being haunted by her death.
Officers with the Whatcom Gang and Drug Task Force also bought pills laced with fentanyl and other drugs from him in February.
Bellingham Police arrested Stewart on July 21st after he was accused of stealing merchandise from a clothing store.
