BELLINGHAM, WA – The Lummi Island Ferry might be a bit busier than usual this weekend.

Runners will be tackling the Lummi Island Loop 5K and 10K on Sunday morning.

Whatcom County Public Works says island-goers will see minor road delays and is advising people taking the ferry to plan ahead.

The races start at 11 am in front of the Fire Hall on Legoe Bay Road and end at 2 pm near The Islander on South Nugent Road.

Proceeds from the run will support early-childhood education on Lumi Island.
