Cougar sightings are being reported in and around Bellingham.
Local state game warden Dave Jones says he’s had several credible reports, including one in Whatcom Falls Park last weekend.
He says cougars aren’t usually a threat to people, with only two fatal attacks in the entire state in the past 100 years, but to be smart and not threaten the animals.
Anyone with concerns should contact the Department of Fish and Wildlife or the State Patrol.
