OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington Department of Labor & Industries is proposing a drop in L&I insurances rates for a third year in a row.

Labor & Industries Wednesday released details for a 0.8-percent decrease in the average premium paid by employers beginning in 2020.

L&I Director Joel Sacks said, “Workplace injury rates in Washington are declining, and we’ve had great success in recent years helping injured workers heal and return to work”.

Workers Compensation rates dropped 2 ½ percent in 2018, and L&I lowered the rate 5-percent in 2019, the largest decline in over 10-years.

L&I workers compensation insurance covers nearly 3-million Washington workers.
