Lynden High School and state Hall of Fame football coach Curt Kramme has died. The leader of the Lions football program for 26 years, had been battling an aggressive and from of cancer called signet-ring adenocarcinoma.
Lynden Athletic Director Mike Mckee told KPUG, that he was informed that Kramme passed away in the hospital Saturday night. “Our hearts and our prayers go out to his family,” said Mckee. “He was a man that had such an great impact on our community with his honor an integrity.”

Funeral plans are not known at this time.
“Everybody is praying hard to take care of the family right now,” said McKee.
Kramme led the Lions to the state playoffs 18 times. His teams advanced to 10 state title games, winning seven, most recently in 2013. In 26 seasons at Lynden, he compiled a record of 248-and-61.

Kramme led Lynden to an 11-and-2 record and the 2A state semifinals last season. The Lions fell to the eventual state champion Archbishop Murphy Wildcats.

Kramme was inducted into the Washington State Coaches Association Football Hall of Fame in January.
