I-5 accident near Skagit Casino involves 8 cars and one pedestrian

BOW, Wash. — A pedestrian was hit and killed on I-5 Saturday night, leading to an eight-vehicle crash.

The State Patrol reports 45-year-old Oly Stan Oberg of Sedro-Woolley was walking behind a vehicle that was pulled off on the shoulder of southbound I-5 near the Bow Hill exit, when he was hit by a car driven by a Mount Vernon man.

Three more vehicles hit the man, two others hit debris and two drove into the median to avoid the crash scene.

One other person suffered minor injuries.

According to the report, Oberg was walking on the fog line.

No charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation.
