Home on Trump Island burns down

LOPEZ SOUND, Wash. — A large home on a private island just east of Lopez Island was destroyed in a fire.

Photos taken by San Juan Airlines Pilot Rebecca Watson show the pinwheel-shaped home on Trump Island completely gutted.

According to the website Private Islands, Inc. and a Windermere Real Estate listing, the island is worth $8.75 million.

The Washington Post reports Trump Island received its name in the mid-1870s.
