BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Holocaust survivor, world-renowned speaker, award winner and beacon against hate, Noemi Ban of Bellingham, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at the age of 96.
Western Washington University says a memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at the Congregation Beth Israel in Bellingham, followed by a graveside service in the Bayview Cemetery.
Noemi Ban lived through Auschwitz-Birkenau where she lost her family before working at a bomb factory in Buchenwald.
In 1995, Ban started telling her story of survival and inspiring others to spend their days choosing love instead of hate.
