High school district basketball finals from Saturday

In a battle for regional seeding, the Lynden Christian boys defeated Seattle Academy 65-54. Cole Bajema scored 42 points for the Lyncs who are now bi-district tournament champions. They have the #1 seed in the regional round next week.

On the other side of the Lynden Christian doubleheader, the LC girls also have a #1 seed for next week’s regionals after a bi-district championship win. They beat Overlake 60-46 with Grace Sterk scoring 26 for the Lady Lyncs.

Also in girls play, Lynden defeated Archbishop Murphy 54-41, Bellingham fell to Burlington-Edison 77-40, Anacortes beat Sammamish 50-40, & Ferndale lost to Edmonds-Woodway 58-47.

For the boys, Burlington-Edison beat Mountlake Terrace 59-43,  Sehome lost to Liberty 80-73 & Lynden defeated Anacortes 67-35.
