High school basketball district scores from Friday night

The Ferndale girls will continue on in the 3A district tournament after they beat Stanwood 64-56 Friday night. In the loser-out game Kim Weden scored 21 points and Jamie Johnson got 18 for the Golden Eagles. They will play against Edmonds-Woodway Saturday morning at 11am at Everett Community College.

Also in girls play Lynden defeated Burlington-Edison 43-40. The Lions will next play Archbishop Murphy Saturday at 5:30pm in the 2A District Championship game at Mount Vernon High School. Meridian beat Nooksack Valley 51-29. The Trojans will advance to State as the Pioneers’ season comes to an end.

On the boys side Meridian fell to Overlake 69-50 in a loser out game. Lynden defeated Burlington-Edison 63-38 and move on to play in the 2A District Championship game against Anacortes Saturday at 7pm at Mount Vernon High School.
