BELLINGHAM, WA. – (KGMI.com) For the second time in a week, a local council was disrupted by hate speech.
At the November 8th meeting for the Whatcom County Council, a virtual participant with a fake name used hate speech while speaking to the council.
The County Council issued a statement on Thursday, November 9th, condemning the hate speech and encouraging community members to stand against it.
On November 2nd, the Blaine City Council had a similar incident, where a “Zoombomber” called in and said the n-word over ten times during the public hearing.
The Northern Light reports that the Zoombomber re-logged in to continue their racial-slur laden language after getting kicked out of the Zoom call.
