Flooding blocks major Whatcom County roads

FERNDALE, Wash. — Flooding has closed multiple roads in the Ferndale and Lynden areas.

The Department of Transportation is telling Slater Road commuters to detour through Ferndale instead, while Ferndale Road between Marine Drive and Slater is closed and Barrett at Paradise Road is closed.

Hampton Road from Lynden to Northwood is closed and Hannegan between Polinder Road and Lynden is also a no-go due to water over the roadway.
