FERNDALE, Wash. – The Ferndale School District has a new superintendent.

Dr. Kristi Dominguez was the unanimous choice of the Ferndale School Board at a meeting last Friday, March 25th.

The board didn’t have to look far as Dr. Dominguez is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning for the Bellingham School District.

The district says she was one of a large pool of well-qualified applicants and was among three finalists who spent the week touring schools, meeting with staff, students and community members.

She will replace Dr. Linda Quinn who’s retiring after 12 years at the helm of Ferndale Schools.

Dr. Dominguez begins her new position on July 1st.
