Ferndale HS locked down on reports of weapon on campus

FERNDALE, Wash. – Everyone is safe and a lockdown at Ferndale High School has been lifted.

A message from the school says they received a report Wednesday morning that a Snapchat video revealed there was a weapon on campus.

The Ferndale Police Department was notified immediately and a lockdown was put in place.

The weapon was believed to be a BB gun.

The person suspected of having the gun left the school and Ferndale Police report he has been in touch with them and understands he’s being sought.

Police do not believe he is still in the county.

No other information about the suspect has been released.
