Ferndale High School praises students for reporting threatening comment

FERNDALE, Wash. – The principal of Ferndale High School is praising some students who didn’t hesitate to come forward when they overheard a comment that could have been considered a threat.

A statement sent to families says the students reported that a peer was overheard Wednesday saying “Don’t come to school tomorrow.”

The administration immediately began an investigation and did not find there was an on-going concern.

Ferndale Police have stepped up security and patrols in the area around the school.

Principal Ravinder Dhillon commends the students who came forward, and says school safety begins with students who see or hear something reporting it to an adult.
