FERNDALE, Wash. — Despite an outpouring of international support and multiple surgeries, Logan, the dog that went viral for his bucket list adventures, has died.

Rescued Hearts Northwest says an open heart surgery in Colorado Wednesday was successful, but the dog couldn’t be removed from the heart-lung machine.

The German Shepherd puppy was taken in by the Ferndale-based rescue group late last year, and when they found Logan’s heart defect showing he only had months to live, they created a bucket list to make the most of his time.

His adventures to get hugs and have fun got international attention, which led to people donating money for Logan to get the potentially life-saving surgeries.

Logan lived to be six months old.
