MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – A memorial service was held for 20-year-old Ethan Chapin in Mount Vernon on Monday afternoon, November 21st.
Meanwhile, police in Moscow, Idaho continue to battle speculation on social media as they investigate the murders of Ethan and three other University of Idaho students.
Captain Roger Lanier told a news conference on Sunday that they have ruled several people out as possible suspects.
And while he says the original 911 call was made from one of the surviving roommates’ phones, police have not identified the caller.
Lanier says numerous phone calls were made to a male subject from the phones of two of the female victims.
Police have posted maps of two areas in the city where they hope members of the public can provide additional photos or video.
Also killed were Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, and Xana Kernodle.
Lanier says they were all stabbed while sleeping in their beds in an off-campus home and there were no signs of sexual assault.
Police have not found a murder weapon or identified a suspect.
