BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A homeowner and his dogs were shocked when a drunk driver crashed into their house on Springside Lane Tuesday evening, July 12th.

Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says the homeowner’s dogs were on a couch when the car crashed through the wall behind them.

The dogs went flying and the couch was pushed six feet into the homeowner’s leg.

The dogs were fine but the man had a leg injury.

The driver, Robert Guadalupe Rangel, admitted that he had been drinking and neighborhood surveillance video caught him speeding and crashing into the house.

Officers arrested him for DUI and reckless driving.
