DSHS opens mobile site for Whatcom flood victims eligible for cash assistance

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is activating its Disaster Cash Assistance Program for Whatcom Count flood victims.

The Mobile Community Service Office will be on-site to help people impacted by the flood from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, Tuesday, November 30th and Wednesday at the Valley Church in Everson (904 Nooksack Rd).

Anyone who was unable to stay in their home during the flooding may be eligible for DCAP money.

The program requires an interview and there’s an application process.

The cash assistance is available to residents regardless of citizenship status.
