Drive-By Shooting In Bellingham Sends Man To Hospital, Two Others Arrested

BELLINGHAM, WA (KGMI.com) – Two people are in custody and another person is in the hospital following a drive-by shooting.

Bellingham Police say that the incident happened in the 4400 block of the Guide Meridian Thursday afternoon.

A driver allegedly pulled a gun and fired at someone entering a separate vehicle.

That person was injured and was taken to Peacehealth St Joseph’s Medical Center in Bellingham.

A Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputy later spotted and pulled over the suspect vehicle on Axton Rd.

Moments before the car came to a stop, the deputy witnessed a passenger throwing the suspected gun out the car’s window.

The driver, 26 year old Jesus Monreal Bohorquez, and the passenger, 25 year old Jordan Velthuizen, were both arrested.

Both face attempted murder and drive by shooting charges.

Monreal Bohorquez also faces an alien in possession of a firearm charge.
