Draymond Green calls Kelly Olynyk a dirty player

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has called out Boston Celtics center Kelly Olynyk as a dirty player.

According to an ESPN.com report, Green said, “He’s dirty, a dirty player,” on Uninterrupted’s “Dray Day” podcast. “I don’t respect guys like that. I know he’s not the greatest basketball player of all time, so maybe he feel like he got to do that, but you don’t have to do that. Just dirty. I don’t respect that, man. He’s dirty.”

Olynyk, a former Gonzaga University star, came under fire from Green following a dust-up with Washington’s Kelly Oubre in Game 3 between the Celtics and Wizards. Olynyk was whistled for an illegal high screen that knocked Oubre to the floor. Oubre then charged Olynyk and knocked the center down.

Oubre received a flagrant 2 foul, was ejected from the game and suspended for game 4. Olynyk only received the common foul.

According to the report Green said, “Kelly Olynyk is a dirty player, man, Olynyk caught [Oubre] in the face and the neck with a couple of elbows. That’s what I don’t understand. You let people get away with stuff, and then when somebody finally react … you penalize that guy. But you are not going to penalize [Olynyk] for continually elbowing him the face. … I don’t get that.”

Back in the 2015 playoffs, Olynyk was involved in the rebounding battle that left Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love with a season ending dislocated shoulder injury. Olynyk was suspended for one game for his role in the play.

Green has dealt with questions about his own on-court demeanor. He has picked up 13 technical fouls this season and missed game 5 of the NBA Finals last year after getting called for 7 technical fouls in the post-season.
