LYNDEN, WA – (KGMI.com) A WTA bus crashed into a gas station after a collision on Hannegan Road Monday night.

WTA spokesperson Maureen McCarthy says the bus was driving westbound on Pole Road around 7:50 pm when it collided with a car that ran a red light at the intersection with Hannegan.

The collision forced the bus into the Hinotes Gas Station where it hit a fuel pump and the station’s awning, causing it to partially collapse.

There was no report of a fire.

The bus driver was taken the hospital and was later released.

Only one passenger was on the bus during the incident and they were not hurt.

The driver of the car was treated on the scene.
