Border crossing reopens after fatal car accident

BLAINE, Wash. — The Peace Arch Border Crossing opened early Friday morning after a fatal car crash had it shut down most of Thursday.

The CBC reports at about 11:30 AM an SUV crashed into a van on the Canadian side of the border, causing it to burst into flames and killing the driver of the van.

The SUV driver was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.

Witnesses say the SUV was going fast when it hit the van, but investigators haven’t released information on what happened.
