BLAINE, Wash. – The Blaine School District is still looking for a candidate to fill the school board’s district 1 position vacated late last October.

The Northern Light reports a special meeting had been scheduled to interview and appoint the new board member on Wednesday, January 4th, but was cancelled due to a lack of candidates.

This is the second time the decision has been delayed as the district says they have not received a completed application from anyone eligible.

To be eligible the applicant must be a registered voter and reside within District 1, whose boundaries include western downtown and Point Roberts.
