BELLINGHAM, Wash. – One of Bellingham’s quirkiest restaurants and most loved destinations for comfort food is closing.

Owners Tina and Kirby White have announced on Facebook that they’re closing Homeskillet on May 1st.

The couple opened Homeskillet on Kentucky Street in the Sunnyland neighborhood 10 years ago and it quickly became a sensation.

They’re calling it quits with a fundraiser party benefitting Planned Parenthood and Whatcom Youth Pride from 10am to 2pm on May Day.

They promise to return after a long road trip and re-purpose the restaurant space as a creative and community hub.
