BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The government may have relaxed regulations on school food health, but Bellingham schools are still dedicated to good nutrition.

Bellingham Public Schools says it is committed to the “Good Food Promise” to encourage a lifetime of healthy eating by serving students nutritious whole foods.

They assure the community that changes at the federal level will not result in lower standards locally in Bellingham.

Former standards are reported to have “increased whole grain expectations” and reduced the sodium intake allowed.
