BELLINGHAM, WA – Bellingham Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying potential victims of a suspected rapist.

Police arrested 27-year-old Julio Ortiz-Ortiz last week after an incident where he is alleged to have tried to sexually assault a man and trap him in his home.

Police say there are likely more victims in Bellingham and potentially nearby cities, including Seattle.

Ortiz-Ortiz is said to have targeted vulnerable men, including the homeless and those under the influence of alcohol or other substances, by offering them food and shelter.

He stands 5’7″ tall and weighs about 260 pounds with long dark wavy hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion.

Ortiz-Ortiz is known to have picked up victims in a black, two-door Toyota Tacoma with a stainless-steel storage bench in the open bed.

He was bailed out from custody on Tuesday.

Anyone with information of other incidents involving Ortiz-Ortiz is asked to call BPD’s non-emergency dispatch line at 360-676-6911.
