BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham waitress was arrested Monday under accusations she stole thousands of dollars from Zen Sushi and its customers.

Lieutenant Danette Beckley says Sara Sprinkle has worked at Zen Sushi near the Regal movie theater in Barkley Village since 2016.

After receiving a complaint from a customer about an unauthorized tip being added to their debit card, Zen found that Sprinkle stole nearly $6,000 from the restaurant and some of its customers.

She was charged with first degree theft and booked into Whatcom County jail on Monday.
