BIRCH BAY, Wash. — A Bellingham man is suspected of driving to Birch Bay and shooting a person he thought his wife was cheating on him with.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 5500 block of Hillvue Road at about 5:45 p.m. Friday.

The investigation found that 35-year-old Martin Siergiey of Bellingham had driven to the victim’s residence, saw them standing outside, and shot at them multiple times.

In an attempt to escape, the victim ran through a neighbor’s yard, over a fence, and into a neighbor’s house where one bullet hit him in the leg.

He was not seriously injured and Siergiey was located and booked into the Whatcom County Jail.
