BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Customs and Border Protection agents from Whatcom and Clallam Counties are in Texas assisting with rescue efforts.

The CBP’s Jason Givens told KOMO the agents are eager to help. “Throughout the nation, CBP has deployed whatever assets they have available,” Givens said.

Givens said the Bellingham Air and Marine branch sent two helicopters and a plane to Texas.

The local crews are helping wherever they’re needed and will stay for as long as it takes, Givens said.
