WENATCHEE, Wash. – A large wildfire near East Wenatchee is threatening homes, infrastructure and farmland.
The Batterman Fire started in the afternoon yesterday, July 4, and is currently burning over 2500 acres of sage and grass.
Evacuations notifications are in place for 80 homes in the area.
State fire assistance has been mobilized under the Washington State Fire Services Resource Mobilization Plan in support of local firefighters working to contain the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
