SEDRO-WOOLLEY, WA. – (KGMI.com) An Arlington woman was killed in a DUI crash near Sedro-Woolley.
The Washington State Patrol says the woman, 20-year-old Ashlyn Stroud, was heading south on State Route 9 late Friday, December 1st, when a car heading in the opposite direction crossed the center line.
The cars collided head-on, sending Stroud’s car off the road.
Stroud was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the other car, 56-year-old McArthur Jackson of Oak Harbor, was injured and transported to Providence Medical Center.
Jackson was found to be under the influence at the time of the crash.
He faces DUI and vehicular assault charges.
Stroud’s family has set up a GoFundMe to honor her memory.
