ANACORTES, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation held a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday to celebrate the completion of the new roundabout at Sharpes Corner on Highway 20 near Anacortes.
Traffic has been using the roundabout since June but striping and landscaping has just been completed.
Anacortes Mayor Laurie Gere, Samish Indian Nation Tribal Chairman Tom Wooten, and 40th District Rep. Jeff Morris were among the group that performed the ribbon cutting.
Thanks to everyone who biked, walked, bused and carpooled to #SharpesCorner today for the official ribbon cutting and THANK YOU to everyone who adjusted schedules and commutes during construction of this safety improvement project. The area is open for all travelers! pic.twitter.com/9Dsfit9ucB
