Police investigating hit and run on Samish Way

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham police are investigating a hit and run that took place on Friday, February 11th.

Officers responded to an accident on the 900 block of Samish Way shortly after getting reports of a critically injured man who had been hit while riding a lawnmower.

Witnesses say the man was trying to cross the road around noon when he was hit by a white or silver sedan that was traveling at a high rate of speed.

They say the driver did not slow down or stop to check on the injured man.

BPD is still investigating the incident.
