Bells Fall to Port Angeles on the Road


The Bellingham Bells (3-2) fell, 8-2 to the Port Angeles Lefties (3-2) in game two of a three-game set Saturday night at Civic Field.

The Bells were shut down by Port Angeles starter Tyler Tan, who went seven innings, only surrendering one run.

Port Angeles, on the other hand, scored five runs in the first three innings and never looked back.

They hopped on Bells starter Gabe Hughes to the tune of three runs on an error and three singles in the second. They tacked on two more on an error and three more singles in the third.

The Lefties added three more in the fifth, loading the bases on an error, a walk and a single before another single and two groundouts plated the runs.

Bellingham’s first run came in the seventh when Jake Terao led off with a walk and was scored by a Logan Stevens single.

They waited to add another until the ninth, as Terao led off with a double and was plated by a Nic Sokol singlem making it 8-2.

The teams will face off in the game three rubber match Sunday at 1:35 p.m.
