The group of 306 people filed a case this week in tribal court on grounds that tribal Council Chairman Bob Kelly wants them out because of anti-Filipino sentiment and a vendetta against certain families.
Group members say the council’s decision is confusing because all of them satisfy the Nooksack Constitution’s enrollment requirements and no one receives tribal casino payouts.
Group spokesperson Moreno Peralta alleges the tribal council has not held regular meetings to keep the group from asking questions about the decision.
He says the council wants to amend the constitution and delete current enrollment requirements.
KGMI attempted to contact Chairman Bob Kelly for comment, but calls went unanswered.
