Liquor Control Board Proposes Big Liquor Buffer For Small Stores

Olympia, Wash.  (Metro)  -- The state Liquor Control Board thinks it has a solution for the explosion of small stores selling liquor that opponents of liquor privatization feared.

The Board wants to allow small stores to sell liquor only if they're 20 miles or more from other stores.

It says that would add just 20 liquor sellers around the state.

"The Olympian" says some small store owners have been waiting a year for word on their liquor license applications.
