Madonna stunned onlookers at a New York City restaurant by staging a mass dance-off at the eaterie last week.

The "Vogue" hitmaker dined at the Antica Pesa venue in Brooklyn with her children Lourdes, 16, and Rocco, 12, on Thursday night to celebrate the birthday of one of her dancers.

Staff were reportedly asked to close the restaurant's curtains and clear the tables to make a dance floor for the group so they could show off some moves while their boss cheered them on.

An eyewitness tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "They started showcasing some of the moves from their (Madonna's) MDNA tour. The staff quickly moved the tables out of the way to turn the dining area into a dance floor, which got everyone clapping and cheering, including Madonna, who watched from a table."

British actor Tom Hardy was reportedly among the diners at the restaurant during the dance-off.
