Ferndale Man Stabs Stepfather

A Ferndale man stabbed his stepfather last night at the home he shares with the man and his mother.

Ferndale Police report 24-year-old Joseph Delgado began arguing with his mother at the Nicholas Drive residence at about 5:30 p.m. and then physically attacked her and threatened to kill her.

His stepfather returned home during the attack and intervened.

Delgado then drew a knife and stabbed him in the lower abdomen before fleeing.

Officers later located and arrested Delgado on Thornton Street about a half-mile from the home.

They found the knife hidden in bushes.

The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital and treated and released.

Delgado was booked into the Whatcom County Jail on an assault charge.
