Counterfeit Money Reported In Skagit County

Burlington, Wash. -- Counterfeit bills are being reported floating around Skagit County.

The Burlington Chamber of Commerce says a bogus 100-dollar bill was used over the weekend at a large retailer in Burlington.

Chamber president and CEO Linda Fergusson says it appears the the bill and was reprinted in a larger denomination after the original ink was washed out.

Retailers and store clerks are urged to hold any hundred-dollar bills up to a light and look for the security thread and watermark.
