Roundabout Construction Begins In Lynden

Lynden, Wash. -- Road construction season is fast approaching and with it more news on plans to build two new roundabouts in Lynden.

State Department of Transportation engineer Chris Damitio says preparations are already underway.

The DOT last Thursday chose the Colacurcio Brothers Construction Company of Blaine to build the roundabouts. Damitio says the project will cost about $2.1 million to complete.

Crews are set to begin construction May 1 and drivers are encouraged to use SR 544 through Everson and Nooksack to avoid the work area.

Damitio says they hope to be done before the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden on August 12.
