Jury Selection Set In Scherf Trial

Everett, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Jury selection is expected to begin on April 2nd in the trial of Byron Scherf.

He's the Monroe Correctional Complex inmate who's accused of murdering corrections officer Jayme Biendl in January 2011.

Attorneys are to appear this week before Snohomish County Superior Court Judge George Appel to discuss the jury selection process.

Authorities say Scherf confessed to the killing, saying he was angry with Biendl over a remark he claims she made about his wife.
