Six Nuclear Waste Tanks Leaking At Hanford

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- As many as six radioactive waste storage tanks are leaking at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington state.

Governor Jay Inslee made the announcement Friday following meetings with Secretary of Energy Steven Chu.

The U.S. Dept. of Energy owns the facility and is overseeing a long-term cleanup of the site.

The first leaking tank was discovered last week.
Inslee is working with officials on a quick fix to the problem, but says there is no risk to the public.
