Boeing Working To Address Dreamliner Battery Issues

Seattle, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Boeing is working to address problems with the batteries on its 787 Dreamliner fleet.

Dreamliners are grounded as the company addresses battery fires.

Boeing is going to present a battery redesign that they hope will fix the problem and get the Dreamliners back in the air.

People with knowledge of the proposal say Boeing wants to increase the space between the cells of the battery, improve ventilation in the unit and enclose it within heat-resistant glass.

United Airlines is the only U.S. carrier with Dreamliners.

It's removing the planes from its flight schedule through June 5th.
