'Barefoot Bandit' Faces New Charges

Mount Vernon, Wash.  (Metro)  -- New charges are lodged against 21-year-old Colton Harris-Moore, also known as "The Barefoot Bandit," who's currently serving a seven-year sentence for a two-year, cross-country crime spree in which he stole cars, boats, and planes.

Skagit County Prosecutor Rich Weyrich has filed theft and burglary charges against Harris-Moore in connection with the 2010 theft of an airplane belonging to a couple in Anacortes.

Harris-Moore allegedly stole the aircraft and flew it to Orcas Island.

In exchange for pleading guilty to multiple state and federal felony counts, Harris-Moore agreed to turn over all proceeds of a movie about him to pay nearly $1.4 million in restitution to his victims.
