Congresswoman DelBene Talks Immigration Reform

Whatcom County, Wash. -- A congresswoman visiting Whatcom County says immigration reform may be finally at hand.

1st District Democrat Suzan DelBene was in the area for a series of immigration reform roundtables with local farmers and business people.

DelBene echoed her approval that politicians in D.C. are finally tackling the immigration issue.

She says local leaders share her same hopes for reform, as do advocates across the U.S.

DelBene believes comprehensive reform should include not only a path to citizenship, but a clear set of rules so people know what the law expects of them.

The congresswoman says Washington’s commercial dealings with Canada are integral to the state’s economy and policymakers should ensure they continue smoothly once reforms are made.
